Term 3 is a time where students will access information in a variety of ways to help them make informed decisions about their subjects/courses for 2024, based on their:
- strengths and interests
- subject recommendations
- future career pathways
- discussions with family/subject teachers/home group teacher
Subject Selection timeline, term 3
Week 2 – career exploration activities in home group (year 7-11)
Week 2 – optional VET information sessions (year 10 & 11)
Week 3 – curriculum guide exploration in home group (year 7-11)
Week 3 – subject information assemblies in home group (year 9-11)
Week 3 – SACE / Pathways Parent Information Night – Tuesday 8 August 6 – 7.30pm
Week 4/5 – Subject information sessions, in class and during home group (year 10 & 11)
Week 5/6 – Discussions in home group and with families
Students will submit their subject selections using on online platform called Web Preferences. Selections must be submitted by the end of week 6
Year 12s
In weeks 4 and 5, year 12s will be involved in a SATAC Information session to understand the University and TAFE application process for post school courses. Some students will also sit the Flinders uniTEST to help better their chances to get into a course of their choice at Flinders University.
