Middle School Update – Term 1, Week 6

News & Events 6/03/2025

It’s been a wonderful start to the 2025 school year and I’d like to welcome back our existing families and warmly welcome our new families to the Middle School.

Classrooms and learning spaces are alive with learning and students have been settling into their school routines well.

Year 7 students have begun to develop new friendships and are developing a great classroom and House Culture through door decorating competitions, House Challenges, Swimming Carnival Participation and Challenge Cup this week.

The Year 8 students have also had a productive start to the year, meeting a wider range of teachers and starting new subjects across the school.

Our Year 9 cohort has begun their year as the leaders of the Middle School, which has included a selection of the Middle School Leaders team for 2025.

Congratulations to the students shown below who will work as a team on providing student voice for Middle School students and opportunities to improve our school:

On Tuesday March 4, members of this leadership team participated in the Adelaide Secondary Youth Leadership Conference at the Adelaide Convention Centre where they heard guest speakers talk about leadership, communication and inspiring change.

Middle School Year Level Assemblies

Middle School Year Level assemblies offer a chance for Year Level Leaders and Wellbeing staff to present information and reminders to the Middle School student cohort. This term, our Year Level Assemblies have included reminders and clarifications of our new headphones policy, uniform (including new short and pant options), information about clubs and activities and student expectations in the yard and learning spaces.

Middle School Parent Information Evening

The Middle School Parent Information Night on Wednesday February 12 was a lovely evening, providing families and teachers the opportunity to connect with each other and for teachers to share important information with families. Year 7 parents spent time getting to know their core teachers while the Year 8 and 9 presentation focused on the school’s wellbeing strategies and supports, including a presentation by our school psychologist Danni O’Connor on building resilience and managing stress in young people.  It was great to see so many families join us on the evening for these presentations.

If you were unable to join us, please access the presentations here:
