Sports Day 2024

News & Events 6/03/2024

Sports Day will be held at Brighton Secondary School on Friday 22 March (Week 8). It is a whole-school event for all students to take part in and enjoy. The day includes athletics events, novelty events, side-show style events (in the Year 11 Laneway), art club, and a speed-chess competition.

Sports Day is an opportunity for students to demonstrate athletic endeavour, participate in activities that build House Spirit and encourage others to do their best. Participation helps students improve confidence, fitness, perseverance and demonstrate our school values.

If students want to nominate for the 1500m or 3000m events, they will need to register using the link provided to them on Daymap. All other nominations occur on the day. Students simply follow the program and go to their events.

BSS Sports Day Program 2024

Students are expected to remain at school for the whole day (9:00am - 3.30pm) as active participants and spectators. Parents/caregivers are welcome to attend Sports Day to watch and encourage their young person participating in events, model good sporting spirit, and enjoy the carnival atmosphere.  All parents and caregivers must sign in and out as a visitor at the Front Office and follow the code of behaviour. Access to visitor bathrooms is also via the Front Office.

We encourage all students to wear their House colours (the more colour the better), bring plenty of healthy food and a drink bottle or money to purchase items from the school canteen. We also encourage all students to bring their own sunscreen and to wear a hat.

Who will be our Sports Day champions for 2024?
