Principal’s Message

News & Events 14/12/2023

Dear Families

This term has been very busy and productive to finish off the 2023 school year.

There has been a wide range of camps and excursions, performances and programs run which have enhanced the learning experiences of our students.

Our drama students have engaged in performances and our Year 10 students were involved in a performing arts trip to Melbourne.

A group of Special Interest Music students and staff toured New Zealand for the last two weeks of term, performing in a variety of venues, visiting schools and experiencing a number of local attractions.

Close to 200 of our Special Interest Volleyball students, together with staff and volunteers, competed very successfully at the Australian Schools Volleyball Cup, winning the Boys Trophy, the Girls Trophy, and the Overall Champion School.

We continue to focus strongly on student leadership at our school and our student leaders for 2024 have been selected this term to enable them to begin their roles from the start of next year. Our school leaders in all areas made significant contributions to our school during 2023 and we thank them for the legacy they leave.

We farewelled our Class of 2023 with a range of activities in Week 2 of the term and then officially at a Valedictory Ceremony at the Adelaide Town Hall on November 29, and we wish them all the very best for their future lives.

As our Year 12s leave, we have been working closely with our new Year 7 students and their families who will be joining us in 2024, running learner profile conversations and parent information sessions, as well as a transition day in Week 8.

In order to support transition for students moving through the school, we have organised ‘moving up days’ for our Year 7 to 9 students and orientation lessons for all subjects for our students moving into Year 12 next year.

I would like to acknowledge our staff, both teaching and non-teaching, for their dedication and commitment this year and for the support they’ve provided for our students.

I hope you have a wonderful Christmas and New Year and look forward to working in partnership with you in 2024.

Kind regards

Tony
