This year we will celebrate the Children’s Book Council of Australia’s Book Week theme “Reading is Magic” in Week 5 (19-23 August).
We invite all students to get involved with the lunchtime sessions in the library that include a quiz show, author talks by our in-house authors, and writing competitions.
We will also be hosting a Book Drive where we encourage students to bring in a book targeted at 0-16 year olds to be donated to one of our chosen charities including Women’s and Children’s Hospital and Treasure Boxes.
Book Week will conclude with the much anticipated Write a Book in a Day event where students of all ages will plan, prepare and create a book in 12 hours.
The English faculty is excited to bring you the 2024 Brighton Book Week event and can’t wait to show how reading truly is magic!
