Welcome to the 2025 school year! We hope all our students and families enjoyed a wonderful summer break, spending quality time with loved ones and engaging in activities that inspire and fulfil you. As we embark on another exciting year, we look forward to fostering learning and growth while celebrating the achievements of our students and programs together.
Over the holidays, we saw some incredible accomplishments within our school community. Our Class of 2024 graduated with exceptional success, with 98% of students completing their SACE, 26 students achieving an ATAR above 90, and our dux, Darshil Jangra, earning an impressive ATAR of 99.30. At the upcoming High Achievers’ Morning Tea, we will proudly present Darshil with the inaugural James Crawford Award and acknowledge the successes of our merit recipients and students with high ATARs.
In the closing weeks of 2024, our Special Interest Volleyball program once again proved its excellence by claiming the national championship title at the Australian Schools Volleyball Cup on the Gold Coast. This achievement highlights the strength and dedication of our program. Congratulations to all the leaders, staff, coaches, volunteers, and students who contribute to its success.
This term, we’re excited for several much-loved Brighton traditions, including the Swimming Carnival, Year 12 Formal, and Sports Day. Welcome Assemblies, House Assemblies, and year-level events will help set a positive tone for the year ahead. From Week 3, we warmly invite families to attend our Middle School and Senior School Welcome Evenings. These events are an excellent opportunity to meet the staff supporting your children and hear important information about the year.
Our team of dedicated staff has been busy preparing for the return of our students. This year, we are proud to launch a new school vision: “To inspire and empower young people to be curious, resilient, and successful partners in learning within an inclusive and innovative learning community.” This vision will be reflected in every aspect of school life, from the curriculum to the diverse events and initiatives that shape our calendar.
We understand that the start of a new school year can bring a mix of emotions—excitement and curiosity alongside some nerves about new challenges. Please know that our team of home group teachers, subject teachers, leaders, and support staff is here to support your young person’s transition into 2025. If you need assistance or advice, don’t hesitate to reach out.
Here’s to a fantastic start to 2025!
