News & Events 22/01/2025

As part of our Term 1 House activities, we are excited to invite our students to participate in the upcoming Swimming Carnival at the SA Aquatic and Leisure Centre.

Students can choose to participate in the Swimming Carnival, which is a non-compulsory school event. Students not attending will attend a normal school day.

Event Details:

Date: Thursday, 13 February 2025

Location: SA Aquatic and Leisure Centre, 443 Morphett Rd, Oaklands Park

Arrival Time: From 8:40 am at the ‘Event Entry’ on the south-west side of the building

Optional Warm-up: 9:00 am

Departure Time: 3:20 pm at the ‘Event Entry’

Program: 2025 Swimming Carnival Program

Events and Activities:

Students have the opportunity to participate in a variety of traditional swimming events, including freestyle, breaststroke, backstroke, and butterfly. Additionally, there will be exciting team events, such as the noodle relay, surfboard relay, kickboard collection relay, and the ‘late for school’ relay.

The only events we ask students to nominate for are the freestyle events. If your child would like to participate in one of these events, please use the link or QR code provided on the consent form. Please note that freestyle is the only event requiring pre-nomination. For all other events, students can proceed directly to the marshalling room at the scheduled time on the day.

Consent Forms:

To allow your child to participate, please complete the attached consent form and include a Health Plan if applicable:

BSS Consent Form

The consent form can be printed at home or collected from Student Services. Once completed, the consent form is to be returned in a hard copy to Student Services by no later than 3:45 pm on Monday, 10 February 2025. Please do not email consent forms back to school.

Items to Bring:

Students should bring food, a water bottle, suitable bathers for a school event, goggles, a towel, and any personal medication (if required). Students are encouraged to wear their House Polo or House-coloured clothing. The Grandstand Kiosk will be open for students to purchase food or drinks between 11:00 am and 2:00 pm.

Transport:

As this is a local event, students are responsible for their transportation to and from the SA Aquatic and Leisure Centre, arranged by their parent/carer.

Spectators:

Due to the nature of the event, spectators will be unable to attend. However, spectators are invited to attend Sports Day, scheduled for Friday, 28 March 2025.

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to phone our school on 8375 8200 or email dl.0803.admin@schools.sa.edu.au. Thank you for your continued support, and we look forward to a day of spirited competition and enjoyment at the Swimming Carnival.
