Staff Professional Development
At Brighton Secondary School we have adopted an inquiry approach to professional development. Practitioner inquiry is a reflective process which enables teachers to gain better understanding of their practice.
The reflective part of the process includes
- identifying a problem or research question
- observing and reviewing one’s own practices related to the issue
- collecting and analysing data
Practitioner Inquiry can lead to positive changes in teaching practices, more effective programs, and enhanced learner outcomes.
Using the overarching question each team has developed a specific inquiry question.
The teams are
- Student Wellbeing
- Optimal Learning Environment
- Professional Development Models for ICT’s
- Delivery Methods using Learning Technologies
- Literacy Across the Curriculum
- Differentiating the Curriculum
- Futures Connect
- Internationalising the Curriculum
