Staff Professional Development

At Brighton Secondary School we have adopted an inquiry approach to professional development. Practitioner inquiry is a reflective process which enables teachers to gain better understanding of their practice.

The reflective part of the process includes

  • identifying a problem or research question
  • observing and reviewing one’s own practices related to the issue
  • collecting and analysing data

Practitioner Inquiry can lead to positive changes in teaching practices, more effective programs, and enhanced learner outcomes.

Using the overarching question each team has developed a specific inquiry question.

The teams are

  • Student Wellbeing
  • Optimal Learning Environment
  • Professional Development Models for ICT’s
  • Delivery Methods using Learning Technologies
  • Literacy Across the Curriculum
  • Differentiating the Curriculum
  • Futures Connect
  • Internationalising the Curriculum
