School Sport
Zone Sport
Zone sport is played weekly on a home and away basis with other schools in the Southern Zone. Matches generally take place on Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday afternoon, with the exception of cricket which is held on Saturday mornings. Matches are scheduled to start at 3:30pm and finish at 4:30pm. Some sports do have a slightly longer time span.
Most of the sports offer 2 age groupings; year 8/9 and year 10/11/12. Registration per term is $20 - $40. Uniform hire or purchase is extra.
Although there is a wide range of sports offered, 2 conditions need to be met before a team can be entered:
1. There must be more than enough players to enter the team
2. A coach or supervisor can be found for the team
The sports offered include: Cricket, Softball, Volleyball, Tennis, Basketball, Soccer, Badminton, Netball, Football, Girls Football, Table Tennis and Baseball.
Knockout Sport
Knockout sport is a competition which is organised through the South Australian Secondary School Sports Association (SASSSA). As the name implies, your school will be knocked out of the draw if they lose. This process continues until two schools play off in a grand final.
Many of the sports are offered at 3 age levels; Year 8/9, year 10 and year 11/12. These sports are generally played in school time. The minimum cost is $5 and the maximum is $10, irrespective of the amount of games played.
