International Student Programs Staff
David Thomson
Mr. David Thomson is the International Program Manager at Brighton Secondary School. He has been involved with international students for many years. "I really enjoy my involvement with international students during their time with us. I have worked as an Assistant Language Teacher in Japan and so understand what it is like for students to leave their families in order to study in a different country. I take pride in the programs and support that our school offers to international students." Mr. Thomson individually negotiates each student's course and provides ongoing assistance and guidance to the students in their studies and general welfare, as well as helping students to make a transition to further studies in Australia.

Deb Parsons
Mrs. Parsons is the School Support Officer who works closely with international students at Brighton Secondary School. She undertakes the important role of providing curriculum and language support to international students as well as organizational support and assistance to the International Program Manager. For example Mrs. Parsons helps international students to settle into the school when they first enrol. She shows students how to use the computers and the internet, helps them to choose uniform, to get a student ID card, to find their classes, teachers and the books that they need to use. After initial enrolment and orientation activities Mrs. Parsons continues to support international students and their families in many practical ways to help the students have a very successful international educational experience.
