Celebrating the sounds of 60 great years
Mon 25th June, 2012
Brighton Secondary School’s 60th Anniversary Music concert presented the perfect arrangement of invited guests and past and present students. Congratulations to Head of Music, Mr Jeffrey Kong and the school’s Music Coordinator, Mr Craig Bentley who expertly convened the evening. A medley of extraordinary talent and musical masterpieces came together in perfect unison to perform a range of old world classics, jazz, hits of stage and screen and contemporary favourites that struck a popular chord with the diverse audience.
Held at the Brighton Performing Arts Centre on Wednesday 23 May 2012, the music reunion and concert extravaganza entertained a full house and featured The Australian Army Band Adelaide, Rusty Sticks, The Old Scholar Percussion Ensemble, old scholar Leanda Herring, the Brighton Secondary School Concert Band (in collaboration with Brighton Old Scholars), pianist Trevor Tao, Tim Nott, Becky Blake from Chunky Custard and the Brighton Secondary School Symphony Orchestra (in collaboration with Brighton Old Scholars). The success of the concert was testament to Brighton Secondary School’s Special Interest Music Program. Current students as well as all the old scholars who contributed so much of their talent, work and life to make Brighton Secondary School the school it is today were recognised on the evening. Donations on the evening raised funds for Legacy.
